Frequently asked questions

How do I fill a cell? Tap a cell to fill it. Double-tap to switch between fill mode and clear mode. In clear mode, tapping marks a cell as empty (which helps you track your deductions). The current mode is visible in the color of unmarked cells.

How do I read the clues? Each row and column has a list of numbers. Each number represents a consecutive run of filled cells in that line. For example, “3 1” means there’s a group of 3 filled cells, then at least one empty cell, then 1 filled cell. Use the clues from intersecting rows and columns to deduce which cells are filled.

I made a correct deduction but the game says I’m wrong. Is the puzzle broken? Every puzzle in this app is verified to have exactly one solution before it’s shown to you. If the game marked a cell as wrong, there’s a different deduction that leads to the unique solution. Try working from a different row or column.

What do the difficulty levels mean? Easy, Medium, and Hard control the density of filled cells in the puzzle. Denser puzzles (Easy) give you more information in the clues, making deductions more straightforward. Sparser puzzles (Hard) require more advanced logic and longer chains of reasoning.

The puzzle is taking a while to generate. Is something wrong? Hard 15x15 puzzles can take a moment to generate because the app is searching for a board with a guaranteed unique solution. You’ll see a loading indicator while this happens. If it takes more than a few seconds, tap Reset to try a different seed.

Can I resize the text? Yes. Nonogram respects your device’s text size and accessibility settings. Increase your OS font size and the hint numbers will scale accordingly.
